DreamWorks Announces Ogre-Whelming Licensee Support for Shrek Forever After

DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. has announced a full slate of promotional partners and licensees in support of Shrek Forever After, which opened in theaters on Friday.
Among the Shrek Forever After licensees are Activision for video games; Hasbro Games for a line of classic Shrek games and puzzles; Penguin for a variety of storybooks; Rubie’s Costume Co. for Halloween costumes; and VTech, which continues to feature Shrek in new key hardware systems and will launch the character Shrek on the MobiGo & FLiP platforms. Playmates, the master toy partner for Shrek Forever After, offers a full array of toys ranging from figures and plush to dolls and role play toys.

Iron Man 2 Takes Over Toy Fair

At Toy Fair, Marvel Entertainment, LLC debuted a slew of partners and product lines based on the company’s upcoming flick, Iron Man 2, and franchise, Marvel’s Super Hero Squad.
Hasbro, the master toy licensee for Super Hero Squad and Iron Man 2 (in theaters May 7), is introducing a wide range of toy and game products, including action figures, roleplay, preschool toys, board games, and puzzles. At the four-day event, Hasbro debuted the new Iron Man Helmet, featuring directives from Jarvis, and a “slow release” visor, and the R/C Walking Iron Man (above), a toy that allows kids to send the character walking forward across the floor and fire projectiles from his hand and shoulder rockets.

VTech Appointed as Chuggington Global Licensee

Ludorum plc has appointed VTech as the global licensee for Chuggington electronic learning products. As part of the deal, in June VTech will launch a new Chuggington laptop, for kids ages 3 and older. The VTech Chuggington Laptop features the show’s characters––such as trainees Wilson, Brewster, and Koko––and their real voices. The laptop includes a Wilson-shaped selector, abc keyboard, and the numbers 1-10 to teach kids language, numbers, logic, and games.
