Clue Named as Latest The Hub Series

Clue has been announced as the latest series to join a lineup of shows, which will be broadcast on the new network The Hub, to launch on October 10 (10-10-10). Clue, produced by Hasbro Studios, will feature a youthful, ensemble cast (to be announced) that work together to uncover clues and unravel mysteries.

Other shows that will be broadcast on The Hub include Dan Vs., Family Game Night, G.I. Joe Renegades, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Pictureka!, Pound Puppies, R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, The Adventures of Chuck and Friends, and Transformers Prime.

The Hub is a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro, Inc. and is expected to be available in 60 million U.S. households at launch.

Disguise Signs Deal to Manufacture Hasbro-Branded Costumes

Disguise, the Halloween costume division of JAKKS Pacific, Inc., has signed a multi-year agreement with Hasbro to produce Halloween costumes and accessories based on most Hasbro brands. The three-year deal grants Disguise expanded and exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute Hasbro-branded Halloween costumes and accessories in the U.S. and Canada, beginning this Halloween season.

Costumes will include those based on Transformers 3, to be released summer 2011, and the television shows G.I. Joe and My Little Pony, which will air this fall on Hasbro and Discovery Communications‘ joint-venture cable network, The Hub.

Discovery Communications to Develop TLC and Animal Planet Baby Lines

Discovery Communications, Inc. (DCI), and Big Tent Entertainment (BTE) have announced the brand formation of TLC Baby. According to Discovery, TLC is the top cable destination for mothers aged 18 to 49 with children under 2 years old, airing shows such as A Baby Story and Bringing Home Baby. The newly formed brand extension hopes to capitalize and expand on this existing audience.

The TLC Baby brand will span markets including learning and development, health and safety, bath, feeding, electronics, furniture, room décor, bedding/blankets, layette, and apparel. Big Tent was recently named sole licensing agent of record for all TLC-branded content and currently represents Discovery Kids. (more…)

The Hub Network Announces New Original Programming

The Hub, a joint venture between Discovery Communications and Hasbro, Inc., has announced the addition of two new Hub Original Series programs to the network.

Live-action program Pictureka! and animated series The Adventures of Chuck and Friends will appear on the network when it launches October 10. The programs join The Hub’s previously announced series, which will offer programming choices across the network’s planned programming blocks of preschool (ages 2-5, 9 AM-1 PM), kids afternoon/kids prime (ages 6-12, 1-6 PM), family prime access (6-7 PM), and family prime (7-11 PM).

Pictureka! is adapted from the family board game and will feature contestants and their families as they take on the challenge of finding specific objects disguised in elaborate drawings. The show is produced by Hasbro Studios in conjunction with Ellman Entertainment.

The Adventures of Chuck and Friends
features Tonka’s Chuck the Truck and a cast of friends in a song-filled series geared towards preschoolers. The show is produced by Hasbro studios.
